Our Innovation Hub is located on the grounds of the SAP Think Campus, which is currently being developed into a tech centre in the Berlin region. The university location is therefore in close proximity to companies that are pioneers in the fields of technology, data and design. This focus is also reflected in the modern design of the building and interior, offering our students not only geographical proximity to international brands, but also an atmosphere that promotes creative potential and ideas. The highest percentage of scientists in Germany are located in Potsdam.
Potsdam was selected in 2017 as one of 12 digital hubs in Germany: It’s a cluster of world-leading companies in innovation such as the SAP Innovation Centre Network, Oracle and the Volkswagen Group Future Centre Europe (with designers, experience experts, software developers and IT professionals working on tomorrow’s mobility). Our modern building not only offers enough physical space to develop, but also enough mental space to create ideas and concepts. The exchange with fellow students from different fields and countries is important for this. Internationality is a top priority at the Innovation Hub, which is why we always offer our degree programmes in English.
Students at the Innovation Hub have the choice of living in a relaxed atmosphere in Potsdam or in the vibrant German capital of Berlin. The UE Innovation Hub is located in close proximity to Berlin's city centre. The lakes around the area invite students to relax with their peers, especially during the summer semester. Around 25,000 students are based within a 5km radius of the Innovation Hub, creating a vibrant student environment.
The idea behind the courses offered at the Innovation Hub is that - regardless of the subject - students are taught to use the latest tools and technologies with creative design solutions. This gives students a competitive skillset that will help them in the job market, particularly after they have successfully completed their studies. Visit the UNESCO cultural world heritage Sanssouci Palace or the international hub for film production, Babelsberg Studios: The Matrix 4 (starts shooting in 2021), Isle of Dogs (Wes Anderson, 2018), Captain America: Civil War (2016), The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), Inglorious Basterds (Q. Tarantino, 2009), Dark (Netflix, 2019), Babylon Berlin (Sky 1, since 2016), Homeland (Showtime, 2015).
