Study programme & career
The Photography master’s programme is a project-based degree programme and perfect for students who have completed undergraduate studies at university level in an artistic, design area or photography. The first two semesters consist of interdisciplinary project-based studies, like History and theory of Photography or Concept, Identity & Culture. With a master’s degree, you will have the qualifications required to work successfully as a freelance photographer or artist or to take on a leadership role in an agency or company. You will have the skills and expertise needed to work in interdisciplinary and international teams in a wide range of contexts such as art institutions, design agencies, advertising, publishers, magazines, galleries, the film and media industry, or the art market.
Potential career options could be (e.g.) editorial and commercial photographer, artist, art buyer for advertising agencies, online and print picture editor, photography educator, curator or gallerist. The degree category Master of Arts allows students to pursue an academic career path, including doctorate and postdoctorate qualifications.
