Students from Campus Hamburg create a photo spread for DIE ZEIT

Poison, axe or knife - the scary methods of today's and historical criminal cases creates many pictures in our heads...

At the moment, students of the degree program Illustration at Campus Hamburg are currently dealing with the crime of bygone days. Under the direction of Prof. Christian Meyer zu Ermgassen, the participants delve into various traditional crimes with the aim of publishing a series of pictures in the magazine ZEITgeschichte at the beginning of next year.

Even at first glance, these historical events are exciting. However, when we looked at the complex backgrounds and contexts of the offenses during the research, it was only the great narrative potential for the illustrations that became apparent, " explains Ermgassen.
At the beginning of November, the first ideas sketches were presented in the editorial office of the magazine. The reaction: absolutely positive! Now it's time for the final spurt and the students once again focus on the concept and development. Before Christmas, the results will be presented once more to the editors.
We keep our fingers crossed for the participating young illustrators and keep you up to date on the project.
